Pakistan’s Foreign Minister Makhdoom Shah Mehmood Qureshi is today, September 8th, paying a working visit to Poland at the invitation of Foreign Minister Radosław Sikorski. Foreign Ministers addressed a number of bilateral issues, including ways of boosting trade and investment ties. Minister Qureshi has informed Minister Sikorski that a number of Pakistani companies take interest in opening up their agencies in Poland and operation centres on the EU market. [more]

Wednesday, September 8th, will see Warsaw host the 20th session of the Utrecht Conference, a Polish-Dutch forum for the exchange of ideas on European issues. The Conference was first organized in 1999 and initially served as a mechanism to back Poland’s membership of the European Union. [more]

In the Embassy of the Republic of Poland in London was held the book launch of "Hello, I'm Your Polish Neightbour" by Wiktor Moszczyński. It is a content of 61 articles, which appeared at "Ealing Gazette" and "Hammersmith Gazette" in 2007 and 2008. Author describes and explains Polish customs, which astonish many British and vice versa. Publicated in English, but aimed at wide circle of readers, especially Polish ones. It is worth to read it, due to better understanding of that two nations.

The Sue Ryder Foundation charity concert

The Sue Ryder Foundation organised a charity concert at the Embassy of the Republic of Poland, where guests enjoyed a spectacular performance by Agnieszka Pluta, one of the most promising pianists of Poland's young generation who also won the 2010 International Piano Competition in the United Kingdom. The charity evening allowed the Sue Ryder Foundation to bring together funding for the opening of the Sue Ryder Memorial Museum in Warsaw.

Professor Antony Polonsky’s 70th birthday celebrations at the Embassy of the Republic of Poland

The Ambassador of the Republic of Poland hosted a reception to mark Prof. Antony Polonsky 70th birthday. Professor Polonsky is also known as the expert on Polish - Jewish relations and for his work in establishing the Institute of Polish - Jewish Studies at Oxford University, not to mention his dedicated full time work at Brandeis University in Massachusetts, USA.
